Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain orderly conduct on the bus and ensure student safety
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and school district regulations
- Handle emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports
- Assist students with boarding/exiting, including mobility needs
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Background clearance through NJ State Police and FBI
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with children preferred
