What You Will Do
As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe and timely manner. You will serve as a role model and ensure the safety and well-being of every student on your route.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 72-passenger school bus in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic laws and school policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness.
- Ensure the safety of students during loading and unloading, managing passenger behavior and discipline.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, parents, and dispatch regarding route changes or delays.
- Maintain a clean and safe bus environment for all passengers.
- Follow all emergency procedures and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Excellent customer service skills and the patience to work with children of all ages.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
