Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities on assigned routes in a timely manner.
- Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure a safe and orderly environment, assisting younger students when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, including cleaning up spills and ensuring the safety equipment is accessible.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies, and Route Director instructions.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and Route Directors regarding schedule changes or student concerns.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major moving violations or drug-related offenses in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Good physical health, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and board/exit the bus frequently.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
