Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, ensuring a pleasant environment for all passengers.
- Monitor student behavior on the bus and enforce school safety policies and bus rules.
- Communicate effectively with school administration, parents, and dispatch regarding student needs and route changes.
- Assist passengers with disabilities (ADA compliant) as required by law.
- Complete all required documentation, including time sheets and incident reports, accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement (P) and School Bus endorsement (S).
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and push/pull up to 50 lbs in emergency situations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
