Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities on assigned routes.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers by enforcing bus rules and maintaining order.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as necessary to ensure timely arrivals.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding student pickups and delays.
- Report any maintenance issues or accidents immediately to the dispatch center.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, particularly those with special needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clear driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years).
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
- Strong commitment to student safety and punctuality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional afternoons.
