Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-sponsored activities in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, enforcing safety rules and student discipline.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, parents, and school administrators regarding schedules and delays.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of passengers.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus as needed.
- Complete required administrative paperwork accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Must possess a satisfactory driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Excellent customer service skills and the patience to work with children of all ages.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and navigate the vehicle in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
