Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and care
- Maintain accurate records of routes, incidents, and student attendance
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and student needs
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior firmly yet compassionately
- Knowledge of Jacksonville area streets and traffic patterns
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
