Key Responsibilities
- Passenger Safety: Transport students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in excellent mechanical condition.
- Route Adherence: Follow established bus routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals.
- Behavior Management: Maintain order on the bus, enforce safety rules, and assist students as needed.
- Communication: Report any disciplinary issues or mechanical problems to the administration immediately.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with parents, students, and school staff.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clean Record: No major traffic violations in the past three years; must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Age Requirement: At least 21 years old.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with students and parents.
- Reliability: A commitment to punctuality and attendance.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift and carry luggage or equipment, and perform light physical maintenance on the bus.
