Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Safely transport students along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment on the bus, effectively managing student behavior and discipline.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administration, and dispatch regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring all safety protocols (such as the 10-foot rule) are followed.
- Complete all required daily logs, mileage reports, and incident reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations or DUIs within the last 7 years.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, drug screening, and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong commitment to student safety, punctuality, and customer service.
- Willingness to work early morning hours and occasional afternoons.
