Responsibilities
- Operate school buses safely and punctually along designated routes and for field trips.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while loading, unloading, and during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, parents, and dispatch regarding any schedule changes or student issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district safety policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Must possess a clean driving record and no major traffic violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check (criminal history and driving record).
- Physical ability to lift luggage, assist students, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
