Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and care
- Safely load/unload students at bus stops and schools
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid New York State CDL Class B license with School Bus Endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
- Minimum 1 year driving experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student safety and behavior
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work early mornings and afternoons
