Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain student discipline and foster a positive, secure environment on the bus
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchair securement
- Adhere to strict schedules and punctuality standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (provided)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
