Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe, timely, and orderly manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Ensure the safety of students during loading and unloading procedures, managing student behavior as necessary.
- Follow designated routes and adhere to all traffic laws and district safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, keeping it free of debris and hazards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, parents, and school administration regarding delays or issues.
- Complete all required documentation, including incident reports and mileage logs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement (P) and School Bus endorsement (S).
- A current and satisfactory Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations within the last three years.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check (including criminal history and fingerprinting).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
- Willingness to undergo drug screening and random substance abuse testing.
