Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus on designated routes following all traffic laws
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain orderly student conduct and enforce safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and mobility needs
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and weather conditions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Louisiana CDL with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and climb stairs repeatedly
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Prior experience with children preferred
