Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct and ensure orderly boarding/disembarking
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and school district regulations
- Report maintenance issues and complete required documentation
- Provide first aid assistance in emergency situations
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent driving record with no major violations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and dedication to student safety
- High school diploma or equivalent required
