Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following established schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of buses to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness
- Maintain accurate student attendance and route documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, and school staff
- Enforce bus safety rules and provide student guidance during transit
- Report maintenance issues and accidents immediately to dispatch
- Participate in mandatory training and safety drills
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation physical and drug screening
- Clear background check and fingerprint clearance
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts when needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student safety and punctuality
