Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logbooks
- Ensure student safety through proper loading/unloading procedures and bus management
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Respond appropriately to student needs and emergencies
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interior
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain DOT medical certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly
- Flexibility to cover varied routes and schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent required
