Responsibilities
- Transport students safely to and from school and school-related activities in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and safe environment for all passengers.
- Enforce all school bus safety rules, including seatbelt usage and proper conduct.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain seated and secure during transit.
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or student disciplinary problems immediately to the dispatch office.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators and parents regarding routes and schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major traffic violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and fingerprinting.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to meet medical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
