Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and safety discipline
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and AISD policies
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Assist students with mobility needs during boarding/exiting
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Minimum 1 year driving experience (commercial or personal)
- Clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to cover substitute routes as needed
