Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus routes on scheduled routes and field trips
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Monitor student behavior and enforce safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Adhere to strict safety standards and traffic regulations
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus endorsement
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with children of all ages
- Flexibility to cover various shifts and routes
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- High school diploma or equivalent required
