Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit to maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including mobility support when needed
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility aids
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible availability for morning, midday, and afternoon routes
