Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle readiness
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior management
- Maintain accurate route logs and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Provide emergency response training and first aid when needed
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Satisfactory driving record and background check
- School bus driver certification or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
- Knowledge of Orlando area streets and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
