What You'll Do
As a School Bus Driver, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the safe transport of students to and from school. You will serve as a role model, maintaining a professional and positive atmosphere on the bus while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, daycare centers, and special events in a timely and courteous manner.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, enforcing safety rules and managing student behavior.
- Follow all traffic laws, state regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and dispatch regarding route changes or student issues.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain safe at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements (P and S).
- Pass a mandatory Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no serious infractions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, professional demeanor.
