Responsibilities
- Safely operate district-provided school buses on designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Ensure student safety through adherence to traffic laws and district protocols
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and clear communication
- Report mechanical issues immediately to maintenance department
- Participate in mandatory safety training and route familiarization
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility-impaired students
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
