Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips adhering to strict schedules and routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections of buses and report maintenance issues
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment on the bus while enforcing safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and ensure safety at all times
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Clear DMV driving record (no more than 2 points in past 3 years)
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Fluent in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
