Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Maintain accurate route schedules and communicate delays to dispatch
- Complete daily mileage logs and incident reports as required
- Provide excellent customer service to parents, students, and school staff
- Participate in ongoing safety training and route familiarization
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for student assistance if needed
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
- Background clearance through Georgia PSC and fingerprinting
