Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips on assigned routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain daily logs
- Enforce bus safety protocols and student conduct policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff
- Adapt routes for weather, traffic, and special events
- Report maintenance issues and maintain cleanliness of bus interior
- Complete required safety training and certification updates
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B CDL with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clear driving record and background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
- Basic knowledge of Oakland area geography
