Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, ensuring adherence to the established route and schedule.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is mechanically sound and safe for operation.
- Manage student behavior on the bus, maintaining a safe and orderly environment for all passengers.
- Communicate effectively with parents, dispatchers, and school staff regarding delays, pick-up times, or student issues.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, particularly those with special needs or mobility challenges.
- Keep the bus interior clean and sanitized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus endorsement (S) is required.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the last 5 years.
- Ability to pass a mandatory background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including early mornings and afternoons.
