Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities on designated routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Enforce bus safety protocols and maintain orderly passenger conduct
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety regulations, and district policies
- Assist students with boarding/exiting, including those with special needs
- Report maintenance issues and safety concerns immediately
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible schedule (early mornings/afternoons)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with children preferred
