Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Implement student safety protocols during boarding, transit, and drop-off
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with P/S endorsement
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background check clearance through school district requirements
- Commitment to student safety and punctuality
