Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school, field trips, and extracurricular events
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Implement strict safety protocols for student boarding, exiting, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance logs and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to all federal/state traffic laws and district policies
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children preferred
