Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior and ensure safety protocols during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintenance documentation
- Assist students with mobility needs and emergency procedures
- Adhere to strict schedules and punctuality requirements
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Clear driving record and ability to pass DOT physical examination
- Minimum 25 years of age (California requirement)
- Pass background check and fingerprint clearance
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong commitment to student safety and professionalism
