Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student conduct during transport, enforcing safety protocols
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including wheelchair accessibility
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to emergency procedures and evacuation protocols
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility devices
- Pass background check and fingerprint clearance
