Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities on assigned routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus environment for all passengers.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure student safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or student concerns.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain seated and safe.
- Monitor student behavior to maintain a positive and secure atmosphere on the bus.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no DUIs or major moving violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with children and parents.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
