Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes and field trips
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Enforce safety protocols and manage student conduct during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adapt routes for weather, traffic, or special events
- Respond to emergencies following district safety procedures
Qualifications
- Valid NC Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible availability for early morning/afternoon shifts
- High school diploma or equivalent
