Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain discipline and create a respectful environment on the bus
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain student manifests
- Adhere to emergency procedures and evacuation protocols
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Background clearance and fingerprinting
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual with strong reliability and responsibility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
