Responsibilities
- Operate school buses safely and professionally to transport students to and from school and school activities.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers while adhering to all traffic laws and school bus safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, enforcing discipline and safety rules among students.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators and parents regarding student transportation needs.
- Follow strict routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the dispatch center.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements required.
- Clear driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Pass a mandatory background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills with the patience and demeanor required to work with children.
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated work ethic.
