Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Supervise student behavior during transport and ensure compliance with school policies
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student safety concerns
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Minimum 1 year driving experience (commercial or non-commercial)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong commitment to student safety and well-being
