Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes in Baltimore metropolitan area
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior according to district safety protocols
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and special needs accommodations
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and weather-related safety procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clean MVR record (no major violations in past 5 years)
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Excellent communication skills and patience working with children
- Residency within 30 miles of Baltimore required
