Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from schools, field trips, and athletic events
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain meticulous vehicle maintenance logs
- Implement emergency evacuation procedures and student safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict DOT/FMCSA regulations and district safety policies
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and accommodate special needs riders
- Maintain clean, orderly bus interiors and ensure passenger comfort
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background investigation
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if required
- Excellent communication skills and patience with diverse student populations
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability
