Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure mechanical safety compliance
- Maintain orderly conduct on buses and implement positive behavioral guidance
- Adhere strictly to designated routes, schedules, and traffic regulations
- Document student attendance and incident reports accurately
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Respond calmly to emergencies and follow crisis management protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience (commercial preferred)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clear background check and driving record review
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
