Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior and enforce bus safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Ability to obtain school bus certification through district training
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
