Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and school policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical soundness
- Monitor student behavior and enforce bus rules to maintain a secure environment
- Assist students with boarding/alighting, including wheelchair accessibility if trained
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bus interior
Qualifications
- Valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with student mobility
- Strong communication skills and patience with children
- Basic knowledge of Tulsa area geography
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
