Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Ensure student safety during boarding, transit, and disembarkation
- Maintain discipline and positive interactions with students
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete accurate daily trip documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year driving experience (commercial preferred)
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work early morning and afternoon hours
- Commitment to student safety and professional conduct
