Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
- Manage student behavior with patience and professionalism
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond to emergencies following established procedures
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Child First Aid and CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage diverse student populations
- Spotless driving record and background check clearance
- Knowledge of DC metropolitan roadways
