Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure student safety while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus
- Maintain a positive and respectful environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Assist students with special needs as required
- Complete daily maintenance logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Driver's License (Class B with Passenger Endorsement preferred)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- No prior experience required - full training provided
- Strong commitment to student safety and well-being
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a diverse group of students calmly
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with mobility
