Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean, safe buses
- Implement strict safety protocols for student boarding, seating, and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes for weather, traffic, and special events while maintaining schedules
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports as required
- Maintain calm demeanor during challenging situations and student interactions
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Minimum 1 year driving experience or willingness to complete paid training
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clear background check and fingerprint clearance
- Child CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist mobility-impaired students
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Fluent English proficiency; bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
