Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Enforce safety protocols and manage student behavior on the bus
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and route compliance
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow district safety procedures
- Ensure the bus is clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work early mornings and afternoons with flexible scheduling
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with children
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
