Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and create a positive bus environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to traffic laws, school policies, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate records of routes, student counts, and incident reports
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and accommodate special needs when required
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills and patience working with children
- Completion of first aid/CPR certification preferred
- Ability to work early morning/afternoon hours and occasional field trips
