Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following strict traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior and enforce safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for weather, traffic, and special events
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
- Maintain a positive, secure environment for all passengers
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and dedication to student safety
- High school diploma or equivalent
